One man describes the line as a "Firing Line in which people face survival or death."  Another man describes it as a line that separates someone from being able to give help to needing help.     Some stereotypes we have about poverty is that poor people are often stupid, uneducated, and lazy. But this isn't true as there are a lot of people living in poverty that are working harder than anyone, or people who went to college and got a degree but still ended up living in poverty.  Outside influences and influencers include food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters. These influencers help people who are struggling by giving them groceries, a hot meal, or even somewhere to sleep. These types of things are very helpful to people who are trying to get back on their feet.  Natural disasters are related to poverty because if a hurricane destroys your house, you are left with nothing and would become homeless, even if you were not struggling with mon...

The video is about a black woman and her child at a grocery store being treated differently by the cashier than the white woman in front of her. White people can use their privilege to speak up for races that are oppressed. Since white people aren't discriminated against, people are more likely going to listen to them than to a black person. If a white person sees a black person being discriminated against because of their skin color, they need to speak up and let them know that it isn't right. Sometimes people don't speak up when they witness racism because they don't think it is their place, as it doesn't involve them. Other times, they could be embarrassed to speak up, even though they know it is wrong.

An oppresses group I chose is African Americans. Since African Americans have arrived in America, they have been oppressed. First, they were forced to be slaves, then they were segregated and treated poorly and differently just because they had a different skin color, and today, they are still being judged and oppressed due to their skin color. African Americans as well as people of other races who are tired of the blatant racism and oppression are standing up by participating in civil protests and by bringing attention to what is happening to African Americans and calling people out for it when they see or hear it. Some people see these movements and think they are violent but they really aren't. In some ways, it would be better if they were violent so they would bring more attention and show people they are serious.

In the Middle East, people are often brutalized, jailed and killed for their faith, or lack of faith, in God. In the United States, yes people of often judged and ridiculed for their faith, but it is far less common for people to die over religion in the U.S. than it is in the Middle East.  I believe that as the United States progresses, people will begin to be more accepting of other religions. There will be less hate for having a different religion than the majority of the country.  I believe from the videos we can learn to be more accepting of religions we don't agree with. Instead of automatically assuming someone's religion is wrong, we should take time to sit down and learn about their religion and hear their perspective as to why they think they are right.
